Organic:
To provide our customers with products containing the most
certified organic components or ingredients. If a product has a
part that is wildcrafted, transitional organic or conventional, we'll
inform you.
Ecology:
To consider the ecology of our planet in regard to all of our business
transactions, being accountable for the impact of our actions. We
apply eco-logical principles to everything from the initial sourcing
of products to getting products to our customers' doors.
Refuse, Reduce, Re-Use & Recycle:
First, to refuse items we do not need, like plastic; second, to reduce
the need for things like unnecessary packaging; third, to re-use items
that we can, such as boxes, paper, ink-cartridges, etc. Finally, to
recycle all materials used in the course of operating the business
(i.e. paper, packaging materials, metals, plastic, batteries, cartridges,
etc.). We use 100% post-consumer recycled paper as well as organic
cotton & other tree-free papers, 50% recycled fax-paper, & we re-use
ink-cartridges. We want to encourage our customers to think twice
before purchasing a product, to ensure it is something that truly
will be of use. We use soy or vegetable-based ink, or other less-toxic
inks. Our pens are made with non-toxic ink.
Social Responsibility & Fair Trade Ethics:
To conduct business in a humane way in our personal interactions,
sources of products & our suppliers' records on safe & fair conditions
for workers. We oppose sweat-shop labor & promote fair-trade, as well
as pay living wages to those who work with us.
Cooperation:
To work cooperatively with other like-minded companies & "competitors"
with the belief that working together will help spur positive change.
We also support cooperative ventures, such as buying from suppliers
structured as co-ops or intentional communities, in addition to supporting
independent companies.
Animal Products & Testing:
To be "cruelty-free" in purchasing our goods. We are against animal-testing
& our products are vegan or vegetarian. Please inform us if you are
aware of any discrepancies.
Accommodations:
To remember that we all have differences--some physical, some cultural,
some economic. To provide accommodations when possible, such as having
a "tty" in our office, providing large print or Braille when requested
& discounts. Susun, the owner of Holy Organic!, is fluent in American
Sign Language (ASL) & does business with the Deaf community. We can
also provide printed translations in other languages, such as Spanish
& French. Just ask.
Feedback:
To integrate feedback from our customers & colleagues into our practices.
